2010 PRE Evaluation and Assessment Tour: 6th - 20th November 2010

ACPRE Australia is delighted to be able to bring the first PRE event to Australia in 5 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to have an internationally recognised judge, with more than 35 years experience in judging the PRE, evaluate your horses' conformation and movement.

Entries close on the 30th of September 2010 to allow us to finalise the itinerary, so please register your interest with the office as soon as possible.

The tour will visit several locations in each state, depending on numbers. For example, in Victoria, the preliminary plan is to visit locations North, East and West of Melbourne.

If you have several horses that you would like to have assessed, or have a broodmare that you cannot move, please let us know and we will do our best to accomodate you with an 'on farm' assessment.

However, please note that we do have a 'minimum standard' for the facilities available - this is to ensure the safety of the horses, but also ensures an 'even playing field' - we want all horses to be presented on a good surface so that you can show them off at their best.

Pura Raza Espanola Stallion

Dear friends of the P.R.E. horse,

ACPRE-Australia Inc is pleased to be able to tell you about the following good news from the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse (FPSH).

All ACPRE-Australia Inc.members from July 1st 2010
  • are now entitled to the member discount of 50% on the fees for P.R.E. Mundial registration.
  • will receive the wonderful magazine, "The P.R.E. Horse" published by the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse. We have been offered pages for Australian news plus owners and breeders have the opportunity to advertise their horses, studs etc in this quality and widely distributed magazine.
  • are invited to list their horses for Inscription and Revision / Valoration from 1st July on
  • are invited to contact us with regard to authorizing your Veterinarian to document your horses for P.R.E. Mundial registration ( the process has been approved and endorsed by the AVA / EVA) We were actaully congratulated on it by the President!
  • Revision trip planning is underway and we need you to tell us about your horses, so a program for 2010/ 2011 can be set in place.
  • P.R.E. Show Judge training information is now available and if you would like to know more, please email this office. It is composed of 2 sections; an online section followed by practical assessment at Celebration 2010. Trainee judges in Australia may also have the opportunity to shadow judge ( in a non official capacity only) during the Revisions here. This will allow the trainee judges the opportunity to see more horses and watch and learn from the very experienced senior Cria Caballar Colonels, who will be evaluating and measuring our P.R.E.Horses.
  • And then....what so many of you have asked for, P.R.E. shows are possible, once judges are qualified.
  • We have been asked to offer member/ horse days, allowing owners to share time together with their horses in a friendly informal way. Each state will be asked to nominate a representative to co-ordinate this in their own state. Each will need to be compliant with our insurers requirements, venue etc and ACPRE-Australia Inc rules. This would be a non competition day and an opportunity for the public to meet our breed and talk with owners.
  • During October annually, we would like to allocate a Celebration period for our breed. This would be combined with the Revision tour and in-state seminars, as well as compiling scores across the country by the visiting judge, to award the Champions of the Breed in all the aspects of age and gender. This alleviates the need to transport horses great distances in heat / cold and lowers costs for owners. Footage of show sessions, is now easily loaded online almost instantly, so owners in other states are able to keep abreast of the day's program / horses.
  • Will have access for advertising on our own website at www.acpre-australia.org.au and our Facebook will be ready soon as well. Thank you very much to Sarah in Victoria and Julia in SA.
  • And more to come... please tell us your thoughts!

ACPRE-Australia Inc has been asked, why the P.R.E.MUNDIAL?

The answer is simple; ACPRE-Australia Inc was begun and continues to be an association for the P.R.E. Horse.

In 2007 ACPRE-Australia Inc adopted the Core Values of the FPSH:

  • Like ACPRE-Australia Inc, the FPSH is for the P.R.E. horse.
  • ACPRE-Australia Inc endorses the processes established, used for almost a century to provide us with the P.R.E. horse known and respected internationally in 2006, by Cria Caballar in Spain.
  • P.R.E.Mundial has continued this process for the P.R.E. breed, offering unbroken quality assurance under the same criteria under the same evaluation requirements, offering owners the invaluable detailed "score sheet" system which is no longer offered to owners by the current administration in Spain
  • P.R.E. Mundial is supported by the same experienced Cria Caballar Colonels , who have decades of experience in working with, breeding, evaluating and documenting the P.R.E. horse to conduct the Revision process internationally. As before, these expert men will come to Australia from Spain, to help us with our horses. They have no personal vested interest and they are not private breeders.
  • These same men are happy to offer help through seminars during these visits, train & examine our potential show judges to attain a high level of qualification.
  • Each Revision is an open revision, in that each horse is judged on its own merits. Please note; that the lineage must be verified by DNA. Please read the information about the P.R.E. Mundial at www.prehorse.org
  • ACPRE-Australia Inc endorses this process, as we did that done by Cria Caballar through to end of 2006.

We are pleased to offer you once again this valuable tool for breeders, Revision and registration through the P.R.E. Mundial. That which could have been lost to us all has been salvaged and shared globally through the dedication and work of the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse and its arm, the P.R.E.Mundial. The P.R.E. horse will be protected, preserved and promoted by the FPSH.

Thank you to the FPSH for the support given not only to Australian owners, but to all owners globally, to add another "P" ; to perpetuate this treasured breed as it has been faithfully maintained by the men of Cria Caballar so wisely for almost a century.
